Review the findings from the survey that was conducted to identify teacher beliefs about gifted education, current practices, factors that influence practices, and possible student learning outcomes.
Over the last year, TAGT, in collaboration with Baylor University, conducted an online survey to identify teacher beliefs about gifted education, current practices, factors that influence practices, and possible student learning outcomes. Areas examined included: ability grouping, assessments, differentiation, acceleration and collaboration with others. While the results indicate that Texas practitioners have strong positive beliefs about evidence based practices, it also shows that only a small percentage were involved in implementing them.
