This institute will provide participants with the skills to conduct SENG Model Parent Groups, which are designed to bring together 10-20 parents of gifted and talented children to discuss such topics as motivation, discipline, stress management, and peer relationships in a non-judgmental and nurturing atmosphere.  The full day of training will provide intensive focus on content, facilitator skills, and role-playing opportunities. An evening session will provide an opportunity for participants to practice group facilitation skills under supervision. The next day, there will be several sessions culminating in the development of an action plan for establishing SENG Model Parent Groups.  NOTE: Participation in this training institute requires a two-day (Wednesday–Thursday) conference registration ($319 for members, $394 for non-members) and the purchase of two books, A Parents’ Guide to Gifted Children and Gifted Parent Groups: The SENG Model (2nd Ed.), for $45 (list price $54.90).
