In PubEd news: The Senate concurred with House amendments to SB 2 (Creighton), also known as the ESA/School Voucher bill, by a vote of 19-12. It is now on its way to the Governor's desk to be signed. HB 2 (Buckley), also known as the School Finance bill, has been referred to the Senate Committee on K-12. 

HCR 64 (Curry), the measure to designate the first week of April as G/T Week for 10 years, is in Senate Administration, awaiting a hearing. The next step is a vote on the Senate floor, and then it will be sent to the Governor's desk for signature. 

The House is starting to approach some significant deadlines for bills. Calendars are starting to get longer, and tensions are rising. May 15 is the last day for the House to pass the House Bills on second reading. They have until May 27 to pass Senate bills, and then they will Sine Die on June 2.
