2020 Annual Report

As we reflect on 2020 and what we hope for in 2021, these words come to mind: courageous… tenacious… heroes. These words describe you, educators and parents who have risen to a challenge none of us saw coming. Heroes who have taught and parented, or parented and taught, through crazy conditions, through screens and masks and partitions and space, to ensure that your students continue to grow and learn something new every day.

The TAGT mission is to connect and empower parents and educators to meet the unique needs of gifted individuals. And through all of the turmoil you have brought this mission to life in so many brand-new ways. You have demonstrated flexibility and determination to depths we may have thought unreachable just 10 months ago. You have built your community online through conferences, TAGT Connect, and Zoom discussions, always offering advice or experience to others who need it - supporting each other's learning with such dedication. And most importantly, you have impacted G/T students in your own classroom or district. And we sit in awe to think of all the students you have impacted just by responding to someone's question on TAGT Connect or offering an idea in a Zoom chat – those growing minds are likely much farther away from where you sit, and your impact is much broader than you might consider at first glance.

TAGT members made 2020 productive. You've made it a year of growth, a catalyst for change and opportunity. It's helped us each find deeper meaning and purpose. We know one thing is for certain – 2021 will be what we decide it will be. So, let's start reciting this mantra from startup founder Alistair Croll: “Instead of wanting the past back, want the future sooner.”

We are so excited to continue to serve you and the G/T community in 2021.
