TAGT Board Creates HB3/State Plan Task Force
With the passing of House Bill 3 and the new Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students this summer, the TAGT Board of Directors has created a task force to explore the implications and member needs stemming from these changes. Our goal is to ensure that TAGT:
With the passing of House Bill 3 and the new Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students this summer, the TAGT Board of Directors has created a task force to explore the implications and member needs stemming from these changes. Our goal is to ensure that TAGT:
- meets member needs as they navigate the new law and state plan;
- continues effective advocacy efforts with the state in creating the rules around HB3; and
- effectively prepares for the interim and 87th legislative session (2021).

This diverse group of G/T and school administrators, university researchers, and ESC staff will work throughout the school year to identify and create templates and samples, research proposals, and other resources to help you and your school district implement the new law and rules.
