Committees & Volunteers
TAGT is your association! By volunteering to serve on a TAGT Committee, you have the opportunity to contribute to the G/T community, develop leadership skills and benefit more from your TAGT membership.
There are three categories of committees, all to assist the board in carrying out the association’s strategic vision. Governance committees deal primarily with governance issues and are designed to ensure TAGT follows policy and procedure. Organizational committees ensure we move the TAGT mission forward and help directly service the membership. Resource Committees are focused on creating content, research, and resources for each special interest/audience.

Process
Each year TAGT members are invited to volunteer to fill open places on standing committees. Current TAGT membership is required to be slated for committee service and must be maintained while serving. The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) appoints committee members based on an assessment tool that considers experience and background, in addition to rural, urban, suburban and ethnic diversity. Click here to learn more about each committee.
All committee members will serve staggered one-year terms and may choose to serve on the same committee for up to three consecutive terms. The LDC members will serve one-year terms and may choose to serve a second one-year term. Open positions on committees are slated by late October and notifications of placement are sent shortly thereafter. Committee service is aligned with the calendar year.
2024 Volunteer Applications Are Now Closed.
