Due to impact COVID-19 is having on communities and schools, the TAGT Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to postpone the Leadership Conference scheduled for March 29-31 and combine it with the Gifted+Equity Conference. Now called the TAGT Leadership & Gifted+Equity Conference, this new event will be held on June 8-10 in Denton, TX.
Attendees will be able to attend all breakout and Mastermind sessions. We will host a Leadership track and the typical four Gifted+Equity tracks.
Sessions in the TAGT Leadership Conference track will provide in-depth, advanced guidance on topics important to district leaders and administrators, including specialized sessions on the new Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted and Talented students, sessions for new coordinators/leaders, secondary sessions, and more.
Sessions in the TAGT Gifted+Equity Conference: Serving the Underserved Conference track meet the needs of those who work tirelessly to ensure equitable access for all gifted students. Sessions will focus on at least one of the four main areas:
- Twice Exceptional (gifted and another exceptionality)
- Underserved Populations (low SES, minorities)
- English Language Learners (ELL)
- Additional Qualifiers (Homeless, Military, Girls, LGBTQ, Profoundly Gifted, etc.)
