Personal Goal and Action Plan

The Personal Goal and Action Plan form will be used to develop a personal goal and action plan to hone a leadership skill or gain knowledge and expertise in an area of need related to the gifted program in your school district. Possible ideas include: create a plan to improve communications with G/T parents, develop a recommendation to improve district identification of G/T students from poverty, or develop a professional development plan for both new and existing classroom and G/T teachers in the district.

Online Session: Overview of the Texas State Plan for New Coordinators & Work on ELP Action Plan
Participants identify a personal goal and action plan for participation in Emerging Leaders Program

Online Session: Creating Curriculum for G/T Learners
November 17, 2021, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Online Session: Topic TBA Based on Needs of ELP Class
December 1-3, 2021
giftED20, TAGT Annual Conference (Dallas, TX)
Three-day registration included in program fee; ELP participants will meet in person and will be provided with suggested sessions based on personal goals and common challenges. Leadership session also to be provided by leadership trainer or other leadership expert. Please plan for ELP training morning of December 1.

Online Session: Topic TBA Based on Needs of ELP Class
February 16, 2022, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Online Session: Discuss takeaways from TAGT On Demand course.
One course included in program fee, topic based on personal goals–course should be viewed by participants prior to meeting

TAGT Leadership Conference (Georgetown, TX)
Roundtable Session: Questions and Answers with Mentors
Full registration included in program fee. ELP participants and mentors will meet in person to do roundtables and conversation about questions they have for the larger group of mentors.
Official graduation/recognition will be conducted at this event.
 
April 20, 2022, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Online Session: Wrap-Up and Final Experiences/What You Learned/Gained From Action Plans

TAGT Gifted+Equity Conference (Denton, TX)
Roundtable Session: Meet-Up and Reflection Time
Full registration included in program fee. ELP participants and mentors will meet casually in person to do roundtables and conversation about what they have learned from the event.
