Coaching in Gifted Education: Tools for Building Capacity and Catalyzing Change
Pricing: $449/Members; $549/Non-Members
We know that gifted students spend most of their time in the regular classroom, yet few regular education teachers have the specialized training to address their unique needs. In this book study, you will explore the structures, processes, and resources needed to facilitate GT (Gifted/Talented) coaching as a means of building capacity among classroom teachers to identify, serve, and teach gifted and high-potential learners. Guided by best practices and research in professional learning, you will engage in a discussion around the steps, strategies, and tools needed to create and sustain effective coaching practices. Through reflection and guided discussion, you will learn to guide teachers’ instructional practices through a sequence of co-thinking, coplanning, and reflection as a way to provide ongoing and sustainable professional learning.
In this 6-hour leader cohort and book study, you will join other leaders and have opportunities to examine how the coaching process can be implemented in your own context so that you are equipped to support teachers in meeting the needs and revealing talent among gifted and high-potential students in the regular classroom and beyond.
Book included with registration.
