Explore the Inception of Juneteenth Using Local Historical Narratives
What stories from the past exist in our communities? How do we encourage students to dive into local historical narratives to explore complex issues and consider outcomes of how the past shaped and continues to impact our communities? Spend an afternoon exploring Galveston, the birthplace of Juneteenth, and the rich history of the Emancipation Proclamation. Leave considering your own community’s historical narrative and how students can utilize it to leverage learning into deeper understandings. Lunch included.
Cancellation requests must be submitted before May 12 by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. A $50 cancellation fee will apply for each registration cancellation. After May 12 refunds will not be processed.
