Awards



TAGT strives to honor and recognize outstanding individuals and groups that have demonstrated a commitment to the gifted community in Texas. The awards are presented in recognition of service, contribution, and commitment to gifted education. This is a great opportunity to highlight the outstanding G/T Community in Texas. All recipients will be honored at TAGT's Annual Conference, giftED23.

Awards are given in the following categories:

Timeline

  • Nomination Period: August 1 - September 1, 2023
  • Application Period: August 1 - September 8, 2023
  • Recipients Notified: Mid-October
  • Winners Recognized: November 29 - December 1, 2023 at giftED23


 

 


Educator of the Gifted
The TAGT Educator of the Gifted Award, sponsored by H-E-B, is presented annually to an active teacher of any experience level and teaching at any grade level (pre-K through 16) in recognition of exemplary strategies in meeting the intellectual, social and emotional needs of gifted students through the delivery of curriculum and instruction. The recipient will be provided with a complimentary Conference Badge registration to the giftED23 Conference, a two-night hotel stay, and a $1,000 cash award.

Administrator of the Gifted
The TAGT Administrator of the Gifted Award, sponsored by the Texas Academy of Mathematics & Science, is presented annually to an active school district or campus administrator who is responsible for creating and championing exemplary services for gifted students through campus or district-wide programming. The recipient will be provided with a complimentary Conference Badge registration to the giftED23 Conference, a two-night hotel stay.

Advocate for the Gifted
The TAGT Advocate for the Gifted Award is presented annually to an individual working or serving in any capacity who has demonstrated exceptional efforts to increase awareness, understanding and support of the unique needs and characteristics of gifted students. The recipient will be provided with a complimentary Conference Badge registration to the giftED23 Conference, a two-night hotel stay, and lifetime membership in TAGT.

Parent Group of the Gifted
The TAGT Parent Group of the Gifted Award is presented annually to a formal, organized local or statewide parent group that has demonstrated exceptional efforts to support the advancement of gifted students in schools and communities. The recognized parent group will receive a $1,000 cash award to continue and support the group’s work. One designee from the parent group will be provided with a complimentary Conference Badge registration to the giftED23 Conference, a two-night hotel stay.
